Amsterdam Cheese Museum – Offering a superb taste of Dutch life

Located alongside the city’s majestic Prinsengracht Canal, opposite the

famous Anne Frank House, this cute museum is where you can sample a slice of Dutch

life. Holland is a country that is well-known

for its cheese production, a tradition which dates back over hundreds of years,

and is said to produce around 650 million kilos of it every year.

The

Amsterdam Cheese Museum is located within a typical canal side house and emits

a warm and welcoming ambiance which magically draws you in. In the window are the huge, circular blocks

of delicious cheese, just waiting to be sampled. Once inside, you are greeted by friendly

staff, dressed in authentic Dutch clothing, who astound you with their

knowledge and expertise.

All

around you are rows upon rows of mouth-watering cheeses, which range from the

popular Gouda and Edam to lesser known varieties such as the local delight Old

Amsterdam Cheese. Visitors are invited

to taste the cheeses and compare their different tastes and textures, helping

to make an informed decision as to which variety to purchase and take home to

share with family and friends over a good bottle of wine.

between 10am and 6pm, with a cost of just 1 Euro to enter. The museum provides a fun way to discover the

fine selection of cheese that is available within Holland and is an experience
